Prayer for our Servicemen
1. Thank you Lord, for the men and women of our armed forces. We petition You, Lord, according to Psalm 91, for the safety of our military personnel. Protect and defend them as they protect and defend us. Encourage and strengthen their spirit, soul, and body in the execution of their duties and responsibilities. May they be mentally and physically strong when required to face the challenges of combat. Under gird them with your spirit and might when they are called upon to endure the hardships of battle.
We pray that nothing would take them by surprise but that they would be aware of all potential aggression. Enable them to curtail hostile actions before they start. We pray that they would be in the right place at the right time. Use them as instruments of righteousness to defeat the plans of the enemy. Reveal to military leaders the strategies and plots that enemies would wage. Give leaders wisdom and insight in all decisions. Lord we ask You to manifest Your power and glory.
We pray that every serviceman and servicewoman will come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Savior. Father, provide for and protect the families of our armed forces. Provide a support system to under gird and edify those who have been left behind. Through your Holy Spirit, comfort the lonely and strengthen the weary. Fill our armed forces with Your saving grace and the gospel of peace. We pray that each one would experience Your love. In Jesus Name we pray.
2. Use these scriptures and insert the name of the person(s) prayed for. Where the verses indicate, I, me, you, they, use the name of the military person. For example, in Ephesians 1:16 Paul as he prays, mentions "you" in my prayer. Pray those verses inserting the name of the soldier (s).
